I've been a fan for some time and found the first three
chapters of your book easy and enlightening. I've played "by ear"
for many years and feel as if were "lip reading" the music from someone
else. I finally understand some of the foundational concepts. I would like to
purchase the entire book and anything else you find instructive in becoming a
proficient guitarist. Please let me know how you think I should proceed.
Additionally, are there live video lessons? I'm in Texas but would love to
take lessons from you in some form or fashion. I have many of the downloads
from the ivideosongs web sight. Thanks again. -Carlos Freymann III |

Thank you for offering, to the general public, a "god
send" product guitar players like myself have been searching (what seems
like a life time) for. I only wish I had additional resource to offer.
$8 purchase is such a generous price considering your time and effort. - Alton Kynes |

Great job, Steve! Wonderful teaching from a fabulous musician! - Chris Fowler (Buford High School Music Director) |

i've been teaching out of your book. a few of my students came
to open house at AIM and sat in on your class. They said that you were a genius.
I told them to go buy your book, hopefully they have! - Lorenzo Price |

I just had a quick look at your book. What I saw in the few
minutes I had to spare was really great. Page 68 where you show basic chords
rooted from the 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings is fantastic. I've been looking
for someone to organize this information in just this manner. Also the
description of how and why drop 2, drop 3 chords are formed and named is
really excellent. Yours is the ONLY book I've ever seen explain this in such
clear terms. And this is coming from someone who's wife refers to as a guitar
book-a-holic. I've previewed 1000 guitar books easy (you read that right).
I'm looking forward to spending more time with Fretboard Evolution 1. Feel
free to reprint my comment here anywhere you like. - Gordon Thurber (Professional Guitarist) |

Knowing Steve and his talents, this is going to be a very
thorough and valuable book! - Randy Hoexter (Atlanta Institute of Music) |

The philosophy behind it, which I support wholeheartedly, is
to understand MUSIC through the guitar rather than just attempting to PLAY
the guitar. There is a big difference. Congrats to Steve, and to any guitar
players out there at ANY level, you can gain greatly from studying this book! - Erik Bennett (Professional Musician/Arranger/Composer) |

ÒI took the plunge and invested. No regrets. Paypal was very
easy, reply with link to file almost instantaneous and download no problem.
The 200 or so pages are quite dense, there's a lot of info. in there.
Presentation/page layout agreeable enough, with no fancy tricks to distract.
a rapid read-through shows a consistent, quality text; nice 'flow', no
condescension or corny old jokes. The later chapters require a fair bit of
attention (unless, of course, the subject is already mastered...), but one is
brought up to there in a fairly coherent 'path'. The explanations and
examples are appropriate, and illustrate well the points being presented.
Altogether, I like it, and will doubtless consult quite regularly. I have
many other publications, of all sorts, and class this one with the 'keepers'.
I may even print it out for binding. I found it well worth the $8 I
'invested'.Ó - Douglas Allen (UK) |

I like it. It is well organized and clear. I appreciate the
emphasis on the fingerboard. Many topics addressed in the contents. I would
say it is easily worth the $8. - Forum |

Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you for your work

What an inspiring tool to add to my arsenal of music theory.
The best demonstration of guitar/music theory (major scales) on paper I've seen
to date. - Peter Encinias |

I just got it today and it's worth way more than that to
me....Can't thank you enough! - Phil Isenhour |

I finally got a chance to run through your book. I skimmed
each page and stopped at points of interest- topics that usually get covered
poorly in other books. I must say, I am very impressed. It is very honest,
straight-forward, and friendly. I covered much of the same thinking and
material in my book, but I think you nailed it and took the time and space to
let the information "breathe". I jammed it all into 90 pages! Are
you going to sell bound copies? I'd be glad to drop you a 5-star review for
any promo you may be doing. Let me know when you get the book I shipped. My
guess is early next week via media mail. I am 99% self-taught, so I was
afraid of giving a music jazz school grad a copy of my homegrown compilation-
Now I think you will find that we agree and compliment each others views on
many things. If you care to network in any way I am game. Great work - I will
read it more as time permits. -Jonathon Pac Cantin (Guitarist/Author) |

I get the feeling we are looking at a missing piece that fills
in a hole that many guitarists may have in their knowledge and subsequently their
playing. Although my instrument is not the guitar, I can appreciate the point
about how easy it is to rely on your ear and fall into pattern based playing
on the instrument. The box the guitar presents to you can literally put you
in a box if you let it! This book presents the fundamental rules of harmony
as applied to the guitar that is so needed by all musicians who are serious
about possessing mastery of their instrument -- yes, even us drummers. For
those opposed to any theoretical or systematic approach to musical education,
they only hurt themselves with such a mindset. Knowledge cannot impede
creativity. - Tom Rieck |

Great work, Steve!! Your topics were presented in a highly
accessible way. I'm impressed. I'm sure you'll revise and add lots of little
things over time (it feels endless!), but you have a solid product already. I
hope the best for you and your readers/students. - Forum |
